Katrina joins Sayer Jones from Marshalls & Dent, one of Melbourne’s preeminent Family Law firms, where Katrina also held the role of Senior Associate.
Throughout her career, Katrina has extensive experience in advising client’s on all aspects of the Family Law process.

Katrina has represented clients in complex financial settlement matters, including matters involving the division of commercial assets and complex trust structures between spouses and on associated taxation issues.

She regularly advises parents on their rights and obligations both on parenting itself and that of child support obligations.  She has successfully litigated applications for both international and domestic relocation of children, school and name change issues and change of residence.

Katrina has held the position as a board member of the not-for-profit organisation ‘Support for Mums’, which supports women and their families through circumstantial crisis.  This has provided her with particular insight when advising on Family Violence matters, including applying for/defending against Intervention Order applications.  She has also held the position as an Executive Committee Member of the Victorian Women Lawyers for several years.

Katrina holds a Juris Doctor (Law) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Behavioral Neuroscience (Honours) from Monash University. During her studies Katrina volunteered at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court with the Intervention Order Service.  She also worked as a Medico-Legal Research and Policy Officer at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Katrina is a mentor in the Melbourne University Law School Mentoring Program and the Victorian Women Lawyers’ Mentoring Program.  Katrina is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Victorian Women Lawyers.
